Home Screen

What is the gold ring?
The gold ring in the center of the home screen is your main record button. Tap it to instantly start a general voice recording that will be transcribed and processed by AI.
What are the orbiting buttons?
The five satellite buttons around the ring each represent a feature: Lists (green), Events (purple), Notes (blue), Pomodoro (orange), and Recordings (red). They let you record or navigate with a single tap.
Single tap vs. double tap on satellites
Single tap on Lists, Events, or Notes starts a voice recording pre-tagged for that context — your recording is automatically routed to the right place. Double tap on any satellite navigates directly to that feature screen without recording. Pomodoro and Recordings always navigate on single tap.
What is the lava lamp icon?
The lava lamp button at the bottom between Pomodoro and Recordings launches the Screensaver — a relaxing ambient display. You can also swipe right on the home screen to enter it.

Recording

How do I start a recording?
Tap the gold ring for a general recording, or tap a satellite (Lists, Events, Notes) to record with context. Your voice is transcribed automatically after you stop.
How does context recording work?
When you tap a satellite like Notes and record, the transcript is sent directly to your Notes screen. Lists recordings extract items into your list. Events recordings get added to your calendar.
Is there a recording time limit?
Yes, individual recordings have a maximum duration. For longer sessions, stop and start a new recording. All recordings are saved and accessible in the Recordings tab.
Where do my recordings go?
All recordings appear in the Recordings tab (waveform satellite, double-tap). You can play them back, view transcripts, and see AI-generated summaries from there.

Lists

How do I create a list by voice?
Single tap the green Lists satellite and record. Speak your items naturally — e.g. "Add milk, eggs, and bread to my grocery list." The AI extracts and structures the items for you.
How do I manage my lists?
Double tap the Lists satellite to open the Lists screen. From there you can create, edit, reorder, and delete lists and individual items manually.

Calendar & Events

How do I add a calendar event by voice?
Single tap the purple Events satellite and describe your event — e.g. "Dentist appointment next Tuesday at 2pm." The AI parses the details and creates the event.
What are Habits?
Habits are recurring behaviors you want to track daily. Create them inside the Calendar screen under the Habits section. Give each habit a name, icon, color, and rating options (e.g. Great / Good / Skipped).
How do I log a habit?
In the Calendar screen, long press on any day to open the habit logging menu for that date. Select your habit and choose your rating. Your streak and history are tracked automatically.
Can I track habits from my Apple Watch?
Yes — the Watch app shows your habits and lets you log them right from your wrist. Tap "Track Habits" on the Watch home screen to see today's habits.

Notes

How do I create a note by voice?
Single tap the blue Notes satellite and speak. Your recording is transcribed and stored as a note with an AI-generated title and summary.
How do I view and edit notes?
Double tap the Notes satellite to open the Notes screen. Tap any note to read the full transcript and AI summary. You can also search across all your notes.

Pomodoro Timer

What is the Pomodoro technique?
Pomodoro is a proven productivity method where you work in focused 25-minute intervals (called Pomodoros) separated by 5-minute breaks. After four Pomodoros, you take a longer 15–30 minute break. This rhythm fights distraction and mental fatigue.
Why should I use it?
It helps you break large tasks into manageable chunks, maintain deep focus, avoid burnout, and track how much focused time you actually spend. Many people find it dramatically increases output.
How do I use the Pomodoro timer?
Single or double tap the orange Pomodoro satellite to open the timer. Press Start to begin a 25-minute focus session. The timer will alert you when it's time to break. Use breaks to rest, then start the next round.

Apple Watch App

What can I do from my Watch?
Record voice notes, lists, and events directly from your wrist — no phone needed. Recordings sync to your iPhone automatically. You can also log habits and view sync status from the Watch app.
How do I start a Watch recording?
Open the Rings:LifeManager Watch app and tap the context you want: List, Event, or Note. This takes you to the recording screen. Press the record button, speak, then press stop to save and sync.
The Watch indicator on my iPhone is red — what does it mean?
Red means the Watch app is not installed on your Apple Watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and install Rings:LifeManager from the Available Apps section. Green = connected, Yellow = paired but out of range, Orange = Watch not paired.
What happens when my Watch is out of range?
Recordings made on the Watch are queued and sync automatically as soon as your iPhone and Watch are back in range.

Motivational Quotes

How does the quote card work?
A motivational quote card drops down from the top of the home screen each time you launch the app. Tap the quote to cycle through different quotes. Swipe up on the card to hide it.
How do I bring the quote card back?
When collapsed, you'll see two handle bars at the top separator line. Swipe down on them to expand the quote card again.

Screensaver

How do I enter screensaver mode?
Tap the lava lamp icon at the bottom of the home screen, or swipe right from the home screen. The screensaver shows an ambient display with your upcoming reminders and lists.
How do I exit screensaver mode?
Tap anywhere or swipe left to return to the home screen.
